The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, aka CDC, is a health institute dedicated to protecting public health and safety by controlling and preventing disease, injury and disability.
The CDC becomes involved when a virus breaks out in downtown Atlanta. Doctor Victor Cannerts, who is located inside the Cordon when the outbreak occurs, liaises on behalf of the CDC with Doctor Sabine Lommers, a high ranking official, and the government outside of the Cordon.
